When you don't have to time go out for brunch, @kittenandthebear makes it easy! Today we tried KATB's frozen mini scones with some homemade strawberry jam. These scones tasted just as good as they did in store - maybe even slightly better. Don't say we didn't warn you but our little grubby paws went straight for them as they came out of the oven, and as a bonus, your entire house smells like a place out of dreams. The homemade jam was fairly easy to make - 🍓, sugar, and a tiny bit of lemon juice, then on the stove on high until it thickens to a jam! Super easy and doesn't require Chef Ramsey to help you along the way.
These scones are perfect to keep in your freezer, especially for days when you have people come over unexpectedly or even just for yourself, 'cause honestly, why not?

They come with a full-set of easy to follow instructions:

Preheat the over to 350F.
Take these frozen dough of heavenly goodness out of the freezer and line them on a parchment lined baking tray.

Then brush the tops with a fully beaten egg.

Bake them at 350F for a total of 30 minutes, making sure to turn your baking tray once at the 15 minute mark.
And voila! Just in 30 minutes, you have ready to serve warm scones!

Of note: KATB suggests baking these after sprinkling a bit of sugar on the top to add a crispness - we elected not to do so as these are already 220 calories each. Yes, each 😲 - definitely less than your everyday croissant but with these being minis and our appetites not happy at just one scone, we opted out of the extra sugar. (Part of us can't believe we said that).
If anyone is interested in how we made the jam, let us know!
