Overall experience: ✨4/5✨ 💸$25/person💸 What's better than brunch you ask? All day brunch!
Three simple words and we were enticed. It's like waking up on Christmas morning, smile on your face, and ready to rip into wrapped happiness. It's a snow day rolling into the weekend, a consecutive few days off, with no responsibilities to catch up on.
We walked into Souk Tabule at the Canary district expecting the same amount of happiness, and we weren't disappointed. We can tell you right off the bat that they're not Halal - but you don't find yourself missing the meat. With tangy foul and falafel, charred halloumi nestled between buttered brioche, and a baked shakshouka (roasted 🍅 and 🌶 sauce with 🍳 and labneh - you can tell we're loving the emojis haha), you really don't need anymore than that. They tip-toe the line between classic Middle Eastern food and a western influence, and the fusion is delicious. Granted, the Akkawi is nothing but an overpriced omelette and the honey cardamom latté isn't the best we've ever had (Maha's wins hands down there), but they create such a lovely, light atmosphere that one doesn't wish to leave - and by 7pm, we were proof of that fact (the Nutella saj and Lebanese mint tea beckoned us). We're definitely going again, we can tell you that much, and when brunch is all day (and on weekdays), who wouldn't say yes. Souk Tabule gets a solid 4 ☆s out of 5 from us - and what helped was their attentive service!
Here's to finding more brunch spots that transport us far away from every day life and into a food-lovers paradise. Let us know if you have any suggestions!
