Brunch spots in Toronto

Overall experience:

✨4/5✨

💸$15-20/person💸 We aim to keep it real by not using filters on our pictures but Wish's dark ambience made that hard. It could be the winter, or it could be the place itself - but yup, a little too dark for tastes. The lighter indoor patio turned out to be a little too warm to sit in, though you can tell that was definitely where the money and light was. Winter blues make it hard for us all! Wish Restaurant made it up to us with the gooey goodness of the Grilled Nutella Sandwich and Raspberry Compote. A simple dish you could probably make at home (with Chef Ramsey screaming down your ear) but they've taken it, and created a splendid masterpiece out of it. Really, who doesn't love Nutella?! And paired with a tangy raspberry sauce... mmm.

The arugula salad with its slightly tangy and slight spicy ginger and Riesling vinaigrette, topped with sweet caramelized heirloom carrots, was definitely worth going back for! It keeps us up at night and dreaming of more. The avocado toast was in all honesty one of the best we've had. The best thing - the bread, was toasted just right and we could easily dive into it, without fear of chipping a tooth or denting the knife. (Portland variety was an honest to God struggle in that department.)

Overall, Wish was a winner with a solid 4/5 ⭐️ ... albeit the lighting could be a little better given the lack of sunlight. It's definitely a place worth going back to for - and we suspect the rest of their brunch menu is just as delicious as the items we tried.

On to the next brunch!
