Brunch spots in Toronto

Overall experience:

✨2.5/5✨

💸$15-20/person💸 After Trump's inauguration and a grey January, it was time to take a deep breath and realize life would continue as always. That being said, there won't be a soul that won't miss Obama and his bromance with Biden. We know we will!

Today, we thought to try out Bonjour Brioche, a small patisserie in the Riverside district. The line-up went winding around the corner and past the warmth of freshly baked goods. It's thought to be a place where the croissants are as good as any fancy Parisian bake shop - and the traffic flow in and out would attest to that.

While the menu itself is a list of endless savoury foods, we thought to try the baked French toast, Eggs Benedict layered upon slices of avocado and tomatoes, atop a croissant, as well as the vegetarian omelette. As always, coffee was a must.

If we took back anything from this experience, it is that their service staff are wonderfully attentive, the wait long, and the coffee is always flowing. We'd hesitantly like to mention that it's not some place we would joyously come back again to - it's good, but doesn't have the wow factor. It does satiate, but not quite sure what was missing.

Also, for anyone out there wanting to give the place visit, they do only accept cash.

Here's to wishing we could wake up to fresh croissants every morning!
