💸$15-20/person💸The weather's turned sour in the city, and after the awful commute back home on Thursday, we thought we deserved a brunch for champions. We did after all mission it through the week in hopes of a good pancake.
Today's winner was Portland Variety. Near King and Bathurst, this small joint was filled with hints of cosy decor. We started off with tonnes of coffee in cups we'd hoped to steal (we shall pretend we didn't try), and ordered everything with the word 'ricotta' in it. It might just be us, but pancakes are just done so well in Toronto. These lemon ricotta blueberry pancakes were Homer Simpson drool worthy... the rest, maybe just okay. The avocado toast with scrambled eggs and Eggs Benny, as they called it, were once again good - nothing to keep us up at night, but hey, that means we're still on the hunt for a winning egg dish.
Here's to a cosy night, away from the frosty winds, and a hot cup of yes, more coffee. Here's to a warmer Monday!
